The E-Z Catalog attributes a number of covers to a rocketeer named Ehrich. I have a one from Belgium, two from Germany, and one from Italy that he produced. Two are shown below. The German one is addressed to him, with his name preceded by "Ing." which means he was an engineer. Both covers I've shown below are signed, but the signature doesn't look like it says "Ehrich." Does anyone know anything about Ehrich, perhaps even his first name? Or whose signature is on these two covers? Thanks.

Hello my rocketeer friend. The problem you describe is one that I have not run into before. I always thought that this was a fairly routine issue but I guess that I was wrong. I have been collecting rocket mail for about 40 years now. I have an extensive library of publications that I will need to examine. I will get back to you but it may take a few days. Hopefully this will be a fruitful adventure. Happy collecting to you. Ray

Dear Healthy. I have checked every source and come up empty handed. I will keep it on a back-burner in hopes that I will come across something to add. Please message me if you ever have other rocket items to look at. Ray

Page 3,top left, Ing. Karl Ehrlich might be a typo.
I, however, have a feeling the error is on the covers.
It appears the second covers is the subject of the article.

Thanks for checking, Ray. I really appreciate your effort.

NSK: Ehrlich's first name of Karl should be useful to me in searching, but, as you said, it could be a typo.

I used google translate to convert the article you referenced into English. I cannot vouch for google's accuracy, but here it is:

BUEÜINGEN. Four years ago, the Association for Icy Europe was founded in Addern near Düren, which joined the Europa-Union. The master gardener Heinrich Fourné from Heistern and the former rocket engineer Karl Ehrlich, also from Heistern, are the promoters of this association, which has over 125 members. The association does not pursue any political or denominational goals, but only wants to serve the European idea. The necessary propaganda is carried out in a very original way. On the one hand, the engineer uses honestly constructed postal rockets and, on the other hand, he issues a special stamp that can be stuck onto letters. Several rockets have already been launched. and another experiment with a mail rocket is to be carried out on the occasion of the Aachen riding tournament. The aim is to prove that this means of mail delivery is faster and just as safe as those previously used. The issued stamp immediately sparked keen interest among collectors. Of course it can't be used for franking, but it's fine! Envelopes are very attractive and are therefore an interesting advertising medium.
On Monday evening, around 59 people gathered at the Hotel Dahmen for a cozy evening, attended by the V .V .E. had invited. Mayor Jost, gendarmerie commander Bernard and adjudant Scholzen, as well as several local council members and other personalities appeared. Fireworks were set off at the beginning on Honsfelderstrasse. A very cozy atmosphere quickly emerged that was not interrupted by long speeches. You didn't advertise with words but with mood.
For collectors and other interested parties, we would also like to add that the rocket stamps are available from Mr. Enno Kuhlow, Aachen, Wirichsbongardstrasse 8. The special stamp is printed at "Europa-Union" Büllingen.

I agree that the cover the article refers to is probably the lower one that I had in my original post.

Thanks again to you both. I will report anything else that I find here.

I am quite sure Ehrich and Karl Ehrlich are the same person. He was an electro-engineer who worked on these mail rockets with the Association for United Europe (V.V.E.) at their base in Heistern (Düren). The question is whether the printer of the covers misspelled his name or the journalist did.

That is funny. Did you type 'Vereistes' instead of 'Vereintes?' The latter means 'united.'

Addern should not have been Translated. That is Heistern, in Düren near Aachen.

Actually, I cut and pasted from the article, but you are correct, that word was wrong. "Icy Europe" should be "United Europe"
The article was written in May, so I am sure it wasn't cold enough to be icy.
