Many smaller British Islands issued local stamps. These are local carrier labels and not recognised postage stamps. Sark still does. Quote: I talked to Marty @ Scott and he said Guernsey didnt start issuing stamps until the 1950's. That is not correct. Guernsey and Jersey started issuing stamps either in the 1940s, or in the late 1960s. The regional Wildings were never issued by Guernsey and Jersey, etc. They were issued by the GPO in London, valid in the UK, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. When Guernsey and Jersey became postally independent, they were no longer valid. (Man decimalised and used Machins before becoming postally independent) If you consider the German occupation stamps issued in the respective islands as a issue by the islands, they started issuing stamps in the 1940s. These stamps were never valid elsewhere in the British isles. If you consider these stamps issued by an occupying force in the occupied part of the British isles and as such 'British' then they started issuing stamps when they became postally independent in the late 1960s. |

Yep. When I told him that - in the 1940's - he got a little flustered. I then knew, oh well.... My handy The Stamp Atlas book by Wellsted, Rossiter, etc. helped confirm the history. |

I think thats what I a looking for. The other thread I had started with the GB QEII Album, it has regionals , but the Guernsey page was messed up - cut. But what you posted looks like it. I was hoping there was a complete pages somewhere - occupied, regular issues all in one. I dont have many so at this point seems easier to make my own pages I guess. |

Quote:Guess I'll be making my own pages. Even here, https://www.dauwalders.co.uk/printe...-4486-c.asp, when I click Guernsey, erc., I get, "Sorry, this category has no products". It appears Dauwalders needs some extra time to implement the licensing deal with SG. These are the DAVO albums. My DAVO Guernsey and Jersey albums did not include the wartime occupation issues. They only reserved spaces in the GB album (vol. I, back of book). Quote: Yep. When I told him that - in the 1940's - he got a little flustered. I then knew, oh well.... My handy The Stamp Atlas book by Wellsted, Rossiter, etc. helped confirm the history. Well, that certainly does not make me change my mind about Scott's European and Colonies listings. |

If you have a Davo/SG album for GB and want to continue to use it, it might make sense to buy some Davo blank leaves and work from there. Ideally, Guernsey and Jersey should be separate. And the later regional issues should be separate from the wartime and immediate post-war material. |

Just got a response from Chris Dauwalder - he said the Channel Islands should be updated on their site later this week. I didnt know SG had farmed it out until this am. I was pleasantly surprised in getting an answer so fast - I hardly ever got a timely response from SG! |

Since the SG albums are rebranded DAVO albums, keep in mind that Channel Islands may only start in 1969 and not include these stamp or the Wilding regionals. They will be in the Great Britain album. |

@Stamps4Life, Have you checked there is no page in the set shown here: https://goscf.com/t/85443? That appears to be a set of DAVO Great Britain part I pages (1840-1970).If it is complete with a.o. postage due pages, there also should be a "Channel Islands" page with those stamps. |

@ NSK - yes thanks. That's what I mentioned above in the 1:23pm post. It has the pages , but the page was messed up , torn & cut. At this point, just going to make my own. I thought they might be in Steiner, but could find them there either. I have the link from the other thread on the occupied pages free set & will make the other pages. |
