Afternoon. Can someone please direct me to a comprehensive volume regarding precancel cancel and frankings and their catalogue values of the German empire from 1850-1949. Including all states occupationals Bavaria sachsen etc. Germania protectorates, foriegn offices, feldpost milatary posts foriegn and domestic, Berlin Bundespost reich post germania etc.....thank you ahead of time for your time and effort

There isn't a single source for that much information.

For Germany proper, you'd need a combination of Michel catalogs and handbooks (Spezial Band 1 & 2, Briefe Katalog), plus the Bochmann series on German postmarks to 1951 (available from the ArGe Poststempelgilde) and the post-1951 postmark catalogs published by the ArGe Poststempelgilde.

And for all the sub-areas, it's pretty much a different catalog/handbook for each area, with most of the catalogs/handbooks published independently so it's not easy to find them in one place. Most are published by the various study groups (ArGe) of the BDPh (the big German philatelic society).

In total, you're probably looking at 30-40 different works with 100+ total volumes to cover what you're looking for.
