NFLD Long Coronation Info

Does anyone possess any information on the quantities on the number of stamps printed for the Long Coronation issue of 1937 KG VI

Number of printings would be welcomed too.

Yes we're discussing Newfoundland.

I just checked the only reference I have (Lowe Vol. 5) and the printing numbers are not there.

These were printed by Perkins Bacon. Does anyone know if their print runs have been made available? Not necessarily for this issue but any of their work at this period of time?

For 233,Robson Lowe says 2,270,000 were printed, For 234 1,520,000. Robson Lowe The Encyclopedia of British Postage stamps.see page 526,Vol. 5. I don't see numbers for the others.

All of these details are in the Walsh Newfoundland Specialized Stamp Catalogue (NSSC), which is more up to date and accurate than Lowe or other sources. There is a recent edition. From my 2020 Catalogue (856 pages), it has all the counts for all the issues. I believe the counts go back to Pratt or Perkins Bacon and other sources.

It further breaks it down between the three "short" 1937 issues (2-4 and 5 cents); but also the "Long" issues (1, 3,7,810,14,15,20,24,25 and 48 cent varieties.

The "short" issues had different print counts (1,850,000 to 2,270,000) depending upon the stamp. I believe the "long" issues also varied.

I have scanned and OCRed my copy of the 2024 Walsh catalog. I initially searched it when Trodent first posted but only found sporadic print counts. But I have to be honest, I find Walsh one of the most difficult catalogs that I have experienced in 50+ years. Without question it is packed full of information, but even with it fully indexed and digitally searchable, I struggle to find what I am looking for so it could well have print info for the Long Coronation set and I am just not able to find it.
