Anyone know why the QEII Platinum Jubilee FDC is selling for up to $150? The sheets and booklets can be still bought for issue price at Canada Post.

Quote:The sheets and booklets can be still bought for issue price at Canada Post. This is irrelevant. You are enquiring about another product. Quote: Anyone know why the QEII Platinum Jubilee FDC is selling for up to $150? Is it selling or offered at that price? We had enough members here who offered stamps of minimal value for hundreds if not thousands of dollars on ebay. And there are many more. There are many lots on ebay being offered at ridiculous prices. Some sellers keep popping up. |

The question deserves more than the above trite answers. All four offerings on ebay (different sellers) presently are $40 US or more. There is a reason why the Canadian Infantry Regiments inscription block (#1250II) goes for $250. |

As for the FDC, ebay shows several sold from $3-$33, and many for sale around $40-$50. All far from $150. NSK is right on: it doesn't matter what something is selling for, it matters what it sells for. |

The reason is given in the Unitrade Catalog: "technical difficulties at the printer"... |

Hmmm... and they're out of stock! The question is: what's up with those other 9 dealers? |

What is the drama with "out of stock"? Arpin sold them at a profit even at $3.85 and people bought them. There are opportunists now making money off of something that people are looking for. Wait a while and a box of a thousand will pop up at auction and you can corner the market. |

Quote: This is irrelevant. You are enquiring about another product. Actually, Canada Post do have this FDC in stock for issue price as part of the 2022 Annual FDC collection, Savy collectors could easily buy it and 26 others for $69, cheaper than some asking prices for a single FDC. |

NSK is right on: it doesn't matter what something is selling for, it matters what it sells for. The FDC that sold for $3.85 was more than a month and a half ago (Aug.12). . Today (Sept.28) one sold for $44.95. Sept 1, one sold for $55 |

What's the point of this thread? Lots of examples of this FDC for less than the $150 the OP used as an example, and the consensus seems to be that some sellers are offering it for a reasonable price, and some are trying to take advantage of ill-informed buyers, as with every product. |
