Thank you for the warm welcome. The new Amos pages are still printed on both sides of the page but the weight of the paper is substantially heavier than the old pages from the seventies era. I have part 1-6 placed into three giant sized minkus supreme albums, four 2.5 inch minkus Burgundy binders, seven lighthouse various g binders, and three standard 2 inch ring binders. Of course I have about two hundred sheets of glassine interleaves as well. I have no idea how many thousand stamps I have. I hope to get a count going soon.
The thing I do like about these new pages is that they are five hole punched and will fit into an inexpensive standard three ring binder. I weighed one of my minkus Supremes and it was almost 13 pounds with stamps. I am seriously considering placing the pages into smaller three ring binders. I'll try to post some pics soon if anyone is interested. Genifer |

We do love photos here. It's fun to count them up. take it one album at a time. That is one drawback of the old Minkus pages, they were rather thin and can get tattered fairly easy. I agree with the five hole punch idea. Glad that Amos is keeping the line alive! |

Quote: NSK - so what is your estimate for the likely rough weight of 120,000 mixed stamps? I have never thought about it. Micrograms for a single stamp, however, appeared somewhat light. |

Stamps weigh between 300/oz and 600/oz depending size ie. Regular issues vs Commemorative issues. 120,000 stamps should weigh between 12 lbs up to approximately 24 lbs. |

1 oz. = 28.35 gr.
28.35/600 = 0.04725 = ca. 5 centigrams, 50 milligrams, 50,000 micrograms. So even heavier than standard 80 gr/m2 printing paper. |

Great set-up but I could never abide having the Scott's cats on the bottom level :-) Next level up works though! |

shermae, Those catalogs are the anchor for the entire bookshelf. lol. Every time I bend over I tell myself move them up higher. They weigh a ton, but so do those Minkus Supremes. |

I think that Minkus did a nice job of spacing the layout of stamps in the later years. |
