I would suggest you edit the title of this thread from "Free World Wide catalog..." to "Free World Wide album...", as well as the text of your post. Catalog and album are not the same thing.
I typed and then deleted a reply that this album would be frustratingly limiting for a new collector and that they should look elsewhere.
After reconsideration, perhaps it has a place by virtue of being free. It could provide an entry into collecting for someone who otherwise wouldn't spend even a relatively nominal amount for a "better" album. Might be useful for a merit badge project, too.
Plus, I like the idea of keeping completely empty pages in a separate binder, and only including them in an album once they have some stamps on them. This would accomplish the same thing if you didn't print a page until needed.
Anything on Linn's digital site can be printed to file. Simply get PDFCreator (it's free!) and you can make a pdf version of the document. Be very careful using an ink jet printed version of a stamp album. Your printer paper is not the best for mounting stamps. An acid free paper is better. Also, ink may be fugitive and transfer to the back of the stamps. This can ruin them. Mount only cheap stamps in such an album or use plastic mounts to protect the stamp. This type of album is fine for common stamps or a starter collection. Linn's selection of images is very interesting. The Canada section shows images of common, low cost stamps. The US sections shows lots of early, expensive, classic items. I would never mount a #1 or #2 in this type of album.
