Every once in a while I sort a stamp that has a cancel that just strikes me as so artistic and enjoyable, and has so much history! It's one of my favorite aspects of stamp collecting. Please share some of your favorite cancels in your collection.

I'll start it off with this striking cancel that I'm sure shared so much more history than I know!

P.S., I tried to find a thread with this topic and didn't quite find it, so if mods want to redirect me to another thread, feel free!

The Frankfurt (Main) cancellation is a common type in use in Germany at the time.

Click on the links 'FRANKFURT / * (MAIN) 9 r' for examples of this specific one, or on the page numbers for similar ones from other towns.

Wow, I must agree; I never seen such a striking "H" on a stamp.

All joking aside, , well maybe not, that is one loud way to ring in the New Year, excellently posted on New Years Day and rather inexpensive at 2.1 cent a ringer (bell).

"For some reason, this cancel jumped out at me."

From behind a trench coat?

DesertDweller - socked on the nose cancels are more common from Europe than the US.
