Hello:

I got a bunch of stamps from the world that I am sorting, and I came across a few terms about stamps from Germany. East and West I get, I got a few that I did an online search that said German realm (Wartime). Also, I got one that said German occupation. I'm not sure where they fit, b ut I assume Scotts may have a classification. Would they be under Germany or something else?

Thank

These can take two broad forms - allied occupation of Germany or German occupation of other countries. You'll usually find both areas as sub-sets of Germany in catalogues.

You may check occupations of German areas after both world wars. These will appear in Germany N# cat numbers but also in occupying countries such as Belgium and France. France also has a post Franco-German war occupation issue. The Post WW2 occupations are split between Allied areas, after Germany; and Russian areas, after East Germany.

Thanks, everyone. A friend told me to read a stamp-collecting Magazine from England, and there was an issue covering Germany and their stamp history.
