The American Museum of Science & Energy, located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, is one of three sites that commemorate the "Secret City" and its role in the Manhattan Project that led to the development of the atomic bomb. The museum was founded in 1949 at the time that the "Secret City" of Oak Ridge was no longer a classified site. Now, the Manhattan Project National Historical Park (www.nps.gov/mapr/index.htm), the Oak Ridge History Museum (https://oakridgeheritage.com), and the American Museum of Science & Energy (https://amse.org) show the technical and human history of the Manhattan Project and the Secret City. AMSE also contains exhibits related to other forms of energy, looking to the future.

The show was a success. The dealers were happy and most, if not all, signed up to attend again next year. We had about 106 attendees on Saturday and about 60 on Sunday. Those numbers are consistent with recent years. The auction Saturday night had 34 bid numbers issued. We auctioned 124 lots between 6:05 pm and 7:15 pm including a $4000 hammer price French collection. That was a new record for our auction! We had a few non-collectors bring in collections(?) to try to sell or get appraised. Sadly, most were common FDCs, common used US, and a lot of mint US from the last 50 years. The two presentations were excellent and those that attended gave lots of positive comments.
