I am putting a weekly post on Thailand revenues in my Facebook. Because many members of SCF do not use Facebook, I will put a similar post here.

An interesting niche area in revenues, is to collect foreign countries consular and diplomatic stamps used at the embassies or consulates. In my case, as used in Thailand. Most of them are used in passports to obtain visa, but some or used to legalize documents at the embassy. It is difficult to find single stamps with a legible cancellation where the country or city name is readable on the stamp. However, thanks to the British for cancelling so organized!! More luck can be on pieces or even whole passport pages or documents. Although they are difficult to find, they do not sell expensive in general, only for a few dollars. I am always on the lookout to expand my collection in this area. Below, some samples from my collection.

Thailand revenue stamps, Diplomatic and Consular Service revenues of Great Britain used in Thailand part 2.
Some time ago, I acquired a 72-year-old complete Thai passport. I purchased it for the 3 Consular and Diplomatic Service stamps of Great Britain used at the embassy in Bangkok inside. A small purchase and an internet search are teaching me never ever again to complain about long international flights and long transits. Interesting, what can be found on the internet, even a 1952 flight schedule for BOAC, the predecessor of British Airways.

British Consular Service stamps used at the British consulate in ChiangMai in northern Thailand.
Very rare revenue stamps, difficult to find. On receipt and on fragment.

I wrote a short article on the British consulate in ChiangMai, you can find it in this link. https:// /post/the-british-embassy-in-chiang-mai-1884-1924-use-of-revenue-stamps-at-the-consulates
I show this article to show that collecting stamps can be much more than just filing the purchased items. It opens up a chance to learn about the history and the usage of the stamps.
For my Thai friends on Facebook, I use ChatGPT-4 to translate the English into philatelic terminology Thai. Using this advanced AI, artificial Intelligence give me better and more specialized translation than I would get from a normal Google translation.
For fun, I asked the AI to create a color picture of the British consulate in ChiangMai 100 years ago. To my big surprise the AI seemed to have used my article to create this picture. Please note that this pictures is not based on some archived photo but is 100% artificial intelligence created.
It took only 1 minute to create the picture. If I would spend a little more effort, some obvious flaws in the pictures could be corrected. This is also a warning that pictures or even copies of stamps can be made which are 100% fake, so in near future be aware of this!

Great stuff Jos. I'm one of the few folks that like/view your posts on Facebook but the group we are in is mostly just folks looking for value in "old" stamps they found hoping they hit the jackpot as you probably already know.

Well-presented here, thank you. Your knowledge of this little niche of philately is impressive. I'm almost scared to try and dip my foot in this proverbial pool; just regular issue Thai stamps are tough enough.
