While I can find Zaire on a map, because mine is 30 years old, I could not identify the booklet of stamps shown below. The oddness of the cover suggests a Cinderella, although the purpose of the issue eludes me. Any insight into this curiosity would be much appreciated.

Issued 1996, seems to be #1590/95 in the Belgian "official catalogue". Also issued imperforated.

Johnconn, I do not know if you found Zaire yet, but if you google it you will get a map on the main zaire page.
If something does not work out, just look at the Belgian Congo on your old map. That is the same !

Firmly rooted in the 20th century, finding Zaire posed no problem. I am not as familiar with the Google.

Zaire's long gone, of course.
