QR Code Reader For German Stamps

I understand that the QR codes that Germany has started to include on its stamps link to some information about the stamps. I have tried to download the Deutsche Post app to my phone to access the information, but find that the app is not available in the US. Does anyone know of a QR reader that would work for this purpose that is available in the US? I have had similar issues in trying to download the Royal Mail app to read the barcodes on UK stamps. Thanks for any help.

Are you on Android or Apple? And is the problem that the app is only available in the German app store, but your account is a US account? It is possible to install an app from a different country's app store, but it's not an easy process.

I'm on Android and I'm not sure that I can use another countries' app store for my phone. It's not that important to me that I want to go through an arduous process to get the app, but I just thought I would check to see if others had also had this issue. Thanks for the reply.

I am on Android (galaxy phone) .I scanned the German QR code stamp.
It is M-ware. An electorinics company. My guess companies can buy ther way into the Deutsches post QR stamp market for their publicity..

The QR code on the German stamps has been included for control and tracking of the letter, it does not include any type of stamp information. Tracking is only valid for German territory; I tried to keep track of a letter I sent abroad and it didn't work. In a way it also cancels the stamp for reuse if it is not postmarked.
