I've seen a product mentioned on this forum before (but of course I can't find it now) which is basically a ~1 inch wide strip of cardboard with punched holes you would put in an album every few pages to help level them out, since pages with stamps/mounts are thinner on the side with punched holes.

I'm not sure if anybody sells them or if you have to DIY. But I am wondering what is the best material to use--would 1/16'th inch corrugated cardboard be a good choice?

I'm looking to put them in Scott International (2 post). Would appreciate it if anybody could point me to the thread on this forum which discusses this, or any other info.

Scott used to produce their own filler strips for the two post binders. I don't know if they still do. I use Schaubek and I know they do have them. I've also made my own. Don't laugh, but I found that those bubble wrap packages that Amazon ships with work well because they have some sponginess to them. I'm not sure about archival qualities and do think we should think about that for the long term when introducing things into an album.

This may be what you're thinking of. Slight challenge cutting the holes for Scott's weird rectangular system.

Amos sells them for the 2 square post binders. I use them every 25 pages or so (really depends on how filled the pages are). I even double or triple stack them in the front and back to ensure the spine edge of pages are packed tightly together (to prevent easy slippage while paging through the binder).

Here is another source for the square-post ones. I don't know if the round posts are in the same location if these can be used there as well.

As others have mentioned, if you make them yourself, make sure you use use acid-free or archival cardboard, not ordinary corrugated cardboard. I would also think corrugated cardboard would crush over time so not the best choice of material.

I had to build my own for my older Big Blues out of craft foam, cut on a rotary cutter & hole punches with a big adjustable punch.

I use the Scott square post filler strips. I set my 3 hole punch to the appropriate spacing for the Scott pages and punch my own for my Scott 3 ring binders. You'll need a heavier punch than the light duty office standard 3 hole paper punch.

Thanks all for the info and suggestions! Looks like I'll have to DIY since the International punch holes are different from Specialty. I see the point about corrugated not being ideal. I'm thinking maybe just thick card stock.

Would anybody be able to share a photo of the Scott ACC105 product, or be able describe the material?

Speaking of DIY- You can always use a piece of the corrigated plastic board used for signs. Purchase it most places these days. Just cut to size and punch.
