I am stunned by the sudden loss of Don Denman.
We had a long conversation only 10 days ago, and while he was he was fatigued from his recent health issues, he was in good spirits, and we had some productive discussions about the future plans for the Stamp Smarter Foundation.
My sincere condolences to his wife.
Rest in Peace, Don

I am so sorry to hear this. What a huge loss. My best to his wife and family.
Years ago, when I joined this board, I was very hesitant to join any online board, as I was looking for a place with a respectful atmosphere, yet still with vibrant and interesting discussions. This met my criteria, and a lot of it had to do with Don's moderating - which was peerless. |

Shocked to awaken and find this post. My condolences to his widow and family. Another philatelic voice silenced, but his legacy - Stampsmarter - lives on. |

Very sad news. Thoughts and prayers for his family. Don was here for a long time and seemingly never left. I noticed he wasn't online here for several days and had a sinking feeling. |

Very sorry to hear of Don's passing -- he was a good man -- and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers to his family -- hopefully their memories of better times will ease their sorrow. |

Not been on here a fair while due to a lot of ill health, but Don seems to have been a philatelic encyclopedia, RIP. |

May God bless and keep the soul of Don Denman. Don did a world of good for stamp collecting. It is sad to know that he is no longer with us.

Quote: Don seems to have been a philatelic encyclopedia Yes. For those newer to this forum, he won the Kehr Award in 2019 primarily for the StampSmarter website, noted in this thread https://goscf.com/t/68581&whichpage=1And as written up in the "American Philatelist" (July 2019, page 646): |

So sorry to hear of this news. I never met Don but all of his conversations on this forum were so friendly and welcoming. Unless you break one of the forum rules, then watch out. He will be missed.
Very happy that he had the foresight to set up the Foundation to maintain and grow the StampSmarter web site.
Condolences to his family and friends. |
