These lists are heavily influenced by advertising in the publication putting them together. They can be safely ignored.

The list is no more genuine that the "100 Best Lawyers" lists you sometimes see in local markets. They're all pay-to-play, and bogus.

Years ago I used to work for one of 'Canada's Best Managed Companies'. What I found interesting is that my employer had to apply for the competition, pay a LOT of money to participate, and be evaluated!

I'm not saying this happened here. Let's recognize that the dealers listed have happy customers and successful businesses. But, there are many philatelic businesses in Canada who serve their clientele well and would be worthy candidates for the list.

Maresch is one of the truly old fashioned honest auction houses. They don't own anything in the sale, and have no reserves. They list the items to sell.

As one of those selected I can confirm there was no quid pro quo for advertising - I haven't advertised in Linn's or the Scott USA Specialized catalog for many years.
