If anyone knows about these things, using the Great Britain Philatelic Society Post Office numbers downloads, F83 is the "Porto Rico" cancellation??

Scan is below and it looks clearly to me like F83, though since the stamp was first issued in 1902 it must have been just under the wire as the last listed use of that cancellation is listed as 1902 for Porto Rico.

So if anyone can add anything to this - for example is this the same Puerto Rico that is currently an American protectorate? - I'd appreciate it :-)

That would make it Atherstone which would be cool, too, but I'm seeing a letter first which seems to be an 'F'

Now if it was 'F33' that would be Ystrad Meurig which is in Wales and also cool

If it was an 'E' that would be New Barnet which would be cool, too.

Just trying to figure it out - this is an interesting but not high value stamp no matter how you spin it.

Thanks for the thoughts about it potentially being a 33!

The offices in Puerto Rico, including Arroyo, were closed in 1877 when the last use was recorded. Also, yours has abar too many at top,

This might be the E83 of Caterham Valley in Surrey, or indeed an E33 or F33.

Thank you for the information - that also helps me read the chart of offices better as Last List cannot then mean when it was last opened.

That makes it impossible for it to be F83 so indeed New Barnet or Ystrad Meurig or Caterham Valley it is!

Thank you!
