Here's Child's ticket for Columbian Exposition; it looks like a stamp to me tho too large. Nice engraving.

Now that is something that I collect- World Fair Admission Tickets. The reason the engraving is so detailed is because it was manufactured by the American Bank Note Company, the very same that made several US Stamps. Here are some scans of my collection. I am always looking to add to it!

You are quite welcome. I've shown those before. I just saw a ticket for the 1933 Century of Progress Expo at an antique mall (I didn't buy it- low on $$) instead I picked up a 1926 Illinois Map to go with my US Route 66 collection. Maybe next time.

Bfranton,
I just realized that I don't have the ticket you have.

bfranton: very nice -- thanks for sharing.

Here's a tip for you -- it looks like your scanner is set on scanning the entire "platen" or an area the size of a full sheet of paper. Next time you scan, resize the area of focus so that it is a tighter frame around your stamp -- then you won't get all the extra white space.

The frame is usually a dashed line that blinks and can be resized by dragging it with your mouse.

Either way, great ticket -- thanks for showing it to us.
