Are they still in business?

Guess not. At least Google didn't find it.
I was asking because I have a "Harris Explorer world-wide Postage Stamp Album" from them that is falling apart and it is full of stamps.

It was touched on in the link, but you are correct, H.E. Harris & Co. no longer exists in Boston. As I recall, they moved sometime in the 1970's.

Anyway, I happened to buy a H.E. Harris & Co. catalog in 2009. The intro page notes H.E. Harris & Co. began publication in 1935. My 2009 catalog reads (c) Whitman Publishing, LLC. If I advance to the back of that book, there is an order blank that shows the company address as 4001 Helton Drive, Bldg. A, Florence, AL 35630 or via the web at www.whitmanbooks.com

However, I just checked their website and their current address is: Whitman Publishing, LLC, 3103 Clairmont Road, Suite B, Atlanta, Georgia 30329. Taken from that website is this historical paragraph:

"In 2003, the H.E. Harris company bought Whitman Coin Products from St. Martin's Press. As H.E. Harris also manufactured and sold coin albums, folders, and accessories, this acquisition was an ideal way to consolidate the leading numismatic supply companies in the industry. H.E. Harris changed its name to Whitman Publishing, and Whitman now features three distinct product lines: Whitman, H.E. Harris, and the U.S. Mint. Within each brand, there are coin supplies and accessories to meet any collector's needs. Whitman Publishing markets its books and accessories nationwide through major hobby distributors, dealers and national accounts."

Incidentally, I do have this sheet of the US Flag Stamps from H.E. Harris dated 1993 (noting the Florence, AL location.)

Wow, they have a long history. I didn't see the catalog I have so I guess I will pull all of the stamps out of This one and add them to my collection. Thank you for the information.

Some of their coin folders have Florence, Alabama on them after the name H. E. Harris. Maybe a manufacturing facility??

For me it all start with Harris. My sister pass to me the "Ambassador Album" for stamps of the world. Later on I bought "Canada and provinces" from H.E. Harris too. In these days Harris was in Boston. Daniel

I started collecting with a Harris "Traveler" album (general world stamps). Getting back into the hobby 30 something years later, I bought their 2010 "Statesman" albums (through Whitman, also a world collection)...for no better reason than I felt some level of comfort with what I had already experienced.

I bet a lot of us have memories of the old Liberty US album, and the Statesman WW. I still have my old pages from both and the Liberty binder. Must have bought in the early 70's.

I still use a Liberty album from 1973! (A Statesman, too!) A year or so ago I was in a Borders Bookstore and saw they had one of the newer Liberty albums made by Harris/Whitman for sale. It was in a sealed package, and since it was reasonably priced and I had a store coupon for 40% or 50% off, I purchased it, thinking that if nothing more, the new binder and up-to-date pages would make it a worthwhile purchase to either update my present album or remount stamps in the new one.

Anyway, I put the new album (unopened) in a bookcase for sometime and when I was working with my old Liberty album a few weeks later, I decided to open it. To my surprise (and dismay) the newer album was printed double-sided as compared to the original single-sided page album. Overall, not the quality I expected.

Does anyone make stamp albums that include the b&w images (like the Whitman/Harris albums I own) and the catalogue numbers also?

The pages in the "Statesman" albums are also double-sided...I saw a thread in another forum about using glassine insert pages between them to prevent the stamps unhinging.

Scotts National version has Scott #'s, and some images of stamps, however the International does NOT have #'s

Look on ebay for examples of this. search "Scott National Album"

My first album was a Harris Liberty that I got from my grandmother years ago. I have had to buy a second cover to house the supplements... which reminds me, I still need some!
