I can't seem to find this example in my Scotts Classic.

Maybe not Lourenço Marques? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

'skuse ME!!!

It does say "MACAU" in nice big letters underneath all of that, but came in whole batch of Lourenço Marques I bought about a million years ago. That plus the eyes are going! LOL

Al

(Edit FYI: Macau #183, unused, no gum as issued, Cat says $20, but not with this centering)

Afinsa 182, IIRC the no gum part was due to a flood that washed the base stamps which they set aside as unusable, then they reused those when supplies ran out of the needed values. First issued in 1893 on porcelain surfaced paper and gummed, then surcharged 18 over 20 in 1902 ungummed, then overprinted with the Republica in 1913, then re-surcharged with the 2 also in 1913.

Thanks billsey!

I don't feel so bad about posting it now - interesting history - nothing like asking the wrong question and then getting the right answer!
