Hi all
I thought the 4 Anna stamps were green.
Maybe I'm confused. these stamps are definitely not green.
Would appreciate any help.

The 1855 'East India' 4 anna stamps were black. The1864 stamps were green.

If you are using a catalogue at all, with the British Empire, keep in mind that watermarks and colours, frequently, changed. So, if you find a stamp that looks similar, don't stop searching. You might find similar stamps issued in other years.

British Empire stamps really require you to thoroughly read the relevant section of the catalogue, including footnotes.
