Hello everyone. I wanted to introduce myself in your community. I have a nice collection of stamps, around 120 catalogues, mostly USA, Germany, England, Romania, Russia, sure Hungary and Poland :D and from other contries at leas one catalogue with stamps from each one(more or less). My oldest and largest stamp collection are US stamps starting from 1857-. I entered here to ask for advice for some stamps that I am not sure what they are.

Thank you,
Sasha.

Welcome to the group! When you say "catalogs," do you mean "albums" of stamps?

Welcome.

Post a scan or two of the stamps which present difficulty and we'll see if we can help you identify them.
Also a photo of the entire album page to give us an idea of context.

There are quite a few knowledgeable collectors here. We hope you enjoy the challenge of identifying your stamps.

Sasha,

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences.

My personal bias is a used stamp loses the story of its journey in the postal service when it is removed from the cover it transported to its destination. Collecting postal history adds a whole new aspect to your journey in our hobby.

Wishing you many enjoyable future days in our hobby. Russ

I will post some of them. Please tell me your thoughts as I have some issues with colours :D For example with James Garfield 5 cents stamp in my opinion is #205c judging by the perforations, paper and colour, what do you think of them. I have a load more of them and I am working to understand in what category to put them, if some of them are reprints or not. Please advice on this ones and after I will put others -1900 US stamps to receive advice, if I dont ask too much. Thank you in advance.
