I looked at the Kelleher sale on Randy Neil Literature coming up 8/18/24.

There were several lots that could have been of interest to me, but descriptions are so skimpy or vague that I won't bid.

Disappointed here.

Lots give little to nothing on the quality of books. One example is lot 9126 about US 5c 1856 issue. It shows 2 books but lists only the Frajola/Mayer book in the description, and they show a publication date of 1955 which is wrong for the Frajola book. Another example, they have 3 lots for John Luff's work on US stamps, all look different, some look slap worn out. But not a single word about differences in the lots.

Sounds like you don't know the area, may be good for you to get the books.

The date for the on on the left, the Henry Will book is 1955 (1-1-1955) which is listed right after the title of the book. You seem to know the Frajola/Mayer book on the right and published 1-1-2005 but title not listed as you can read it in the photo.

The current opening is reasonable for the lot. Just one book on ebay, the Will is $99 obo +12 S&H.

As to the

Well a picture is worth 1000 words and there are three. Yes two look flat worn but what is expected with opens of $5, $8 and $15 for the good one (original 1902) and the $5 for the poorer original 1902 copy. The $8 is for a different book edition, the 1937 reprint which has just 360 pages while to original was 417. That is why the number of pages was listed. The 1981 reprint is also 360 pages but the covers are blue and the title brightly in silver on the front and is not offered.

Sorry to say, the needed information was listed.

Well I got all but one item of literature upon which I bid. Who knows when another copy will show up but that is the way of auctions.

What was the book you did not purchase? I have bought and sold a number of philatelic books and may have a suggestion.
