I have purchased this stamp from Spain (photo 1), Edifil#70, through the web and I would like to know your opinion, since in the central part, where the bust of Queen Isabel II should appear in pink, the printing appears incomplete, I don't know if it is due to a printing defect or because perhaps washing along with the passage of time has made it disappear.
I have found another similar specimen (photo 2) for sale where is indicated that it is a discolored one, but I dont know....
In my opinion it is strange that the pink color has completely disappeared without the blue color of the frame remaining fresh without any damage. I also think that if the pink color is so delicate, many more stamps should be seen with the center disappeared or blurred and the truth is The thing is that in my searches I have not been able to see discolored centers other than in these two specimens...

You've been on this forum for quite some time, and have probably seen many, many threads asking the same type of question, and almost all getting the same type of answer: Chemically or environmentally altered, whether deliberately or by accident. I don't see any reason not to give the same answer for this one.

It is the obvious answer, without a doubt... but hey, there may always be someone in the community who has similar copies and can provide data on the process of changing these models to deteriorate both the pink ink to make it disappear... reaching such a deep shutdown is not something that happens commonly in Spanish stamps, even if they are very mistreated, this ED#70 is actually the first model of a Spanish stamp that I have seen completely erased (and coincidentally it is the first issue of bicolor stamps from Spain). The 100% disappearance of pink also seems to be something common in the series since there have been 2 models that I have been able to see so far with this striking curiosity.
