This cover has 3 5˘ stamps on a 1˘ postal card. Can anyone help me understand the rate/usage here? If this were a cover vs a postal card, I'd think it might be an overpayment of a 15˘ airmail rate. Many thanks!
Before June 1,1954 there was normally no special air mail post card rate to Germany. So the air mail post cards were taxed at air mail letter rate. So this is formally an air mail letter overpaying the 15c rate with 1 cent.
