I found this in a lot of electronics magazines I bought, formerly owned by a Radio/TV shop in Staples, MN. Coverage was late 50's to early 70's. Photo is the back cover of the 68 page catalog, most items are military surplus electronics. Front cover is marked catalog 62-F, so maybe dates from June 1962? Meshna Company closed in 1988

Can someone tell me whether this is something special or a usage someone would want. I'd like to be able to have it given to someone else who would appreciate it.

Thanks, Dan

It is a fairly uncommon franking and no doubt several members here would like it, including myself.

Scott lists a solo 3rd class use at $15 in the 2020 edition, which is for the 3rd 2-ounce weight increment, or in other words a 4-6 ounce mailing. These are neither common, nor have many survived due to their bulkiness and challenge to store/mount/exhibit vs the ease of soaking. Your piece has attractive advertising also. (Notice the Scott value for the coil version, Scott 1059 at $200.)

Add, the stamp was issued March 16, 1959, with the 1.5 cent per 2 ounces 3rd class rate rate running from Aug 1, 1958 through Jan 6, 1963, so the "62-F" could easily be February 1962 or Fall of 1962. Either way, clearly within the rate period.

thanks Petert4522, I haven't posted in a while and forgot that. Guess I happened to be reading a post in the wrong group when I sent this.

Can I move it or does a mod have to do that?

Dan

John Becker, I'll send it to you, but first I need to do some scanning. Someone had posted in an antique radio group that he was looking for a Meshna catalog such as this; that was back in 2014. So I contacted him this week & he said he never found one and suggested I scan it & submit it to the worldradiohistory.com website that has many scans of electronics catalogs and other ephemera related to radio, TV, music, etc.

I'll have to learn how to scan that many pages into a single document, then make do it!

Could you send me your mailing address?

Dan
