This is a very attractive airport dedication event cover that was created to commemorate the opening of the New Haven, Connecticut municipal airfield. The nice cachet was created by the New Haven Chamber of Commerce to attract public interest in their city's new airport. They made 3,000 of these nice philatelic covers and it is listed in the American Air Mail Catalogue, Sixth Edition, Volume 1, Airport Dedications Section, on page 329 as Catalogue number D-191 with a Catalogue value of $2.00 (which is the minimal amount for all listed covers). Collecting airport dedication covers is a fun way to create a nice collection for a very modest amount of money. One can collect by State, or by region, or by year or in any way you may like. A good place to start is by obtaining the American Air Mail Society's catalogue to see what all of the Airport Deds are and joining the American Air Mail Society to be in the company of others who collect air mail covers and enjoy sharing information and their love of the hobby.
