Britain didn't have a "War Tax" in the 1950s and 1960s or, as far as I know, at any other time - Income Tax was merely increased during WW1 and WW2. Someone who collects perfins can doubtless help with what "WTC" stands for.
As GeoffHa explained, WWII ended in 1945. Queen Elizabeth II did not accede to the throne until 1952. And indeed, even during the wars, there were no war tax issues.
