The latest issue of Topical Time has an ad for the topical stamp dealer Stamp Smith in Kansas City which indicates that they are retiring January 2025. They are advertising 50% off for payment by check and 45% off for payment by credit card. If they are indeed retiring from the business, it's unfortunate since I have purchased a fair number of stamps for my topical collections from them, both directly and at their stamp show booths. The ranks of stamp dealers continue to dwindle.

It certainly seems that way. Almost every auction I have watched or am watching, especially over the past year or so, has "the stock of" predominantly featured. The remaining genuine full-time dealers I know are almost all well up there in age and nature dictates that their expiration date is likely near. Some will of course say that they are being replaced in multiples by internet sellers but I would like evidence of that. I suppose the antidotal evidence is that someone is purchasing their stock?
