Stamps4Life,
Note that Stallzer's stamp is a Scott 408 or 481. Obvious by the color difference between his stamp and the dusty, gray-green your offset stamp.

Finding a 2 cent Schermack issue as a youth was what brought about my awareness to Scott's Specialized catalog. It was worth less than a normal imperf copy, which was disappoiting, but it opened my eyes to something completely new.

Officially off topic now.... I do not see this diagram "Two Cents" in the vending machine& Affixing machine Perforations. Image type A139, 1908 issue. What's the best way to proceed to ID Scott number?
Any help appreciated !

Your stamp is in the V& section of Scott. It is a 344 Schermack. You start in the front section of Scott, find your base stamp and go from there. In this case you want Type A139.

Ok, I had the A139 and 1908 issue. But don't see this issue diagram listed. I'll look again. I'm working with Scott US Specialized 2019 catalogue. Ok , so,I'd have to guess Sc 344 - but - mine is " Two Cents" not 2 Cents as listed in Vending section.

I am also using the Scott US Specialized 2019 catalogue. You found that the stamp is 344. Go to the Vending section and you will see 344. It is that simple. Forget the stamps pictured in the Vending section. They do not represent every vending issue stamp type but are there to illustrate the perforation type only.

Stamps4Life,
Let's take one step backward and then one forward. Depending on the watermark, your stamp with "TWO CENTS" can be either Scott 344 (double line) or 384 (single line).
The posts up this point did not seem to address this distinction.
It can also be useful to examine the identifier section in the very front of the catalog as well as the listing of the regular issues when trying to understand the Vending & Affixing chapter.

Thank you John. Good points. As im not often sorting these, I do forget about the Definitive Issues Identifier in the front of the catalog. Very helpful. After re-re-checking, I see no Wmk , so im going with Sc 384 - single line wmk. Based on my limited experience and as pointed out here, double line wmk are easier to see vs single line. So I have to go with that there is some line of Wmk on my cleaned stamp that im not seeing.
