I picked this up at Chicagopex from, of course, Denny "Purveyor of Unusual Sh*t" Peoples.

It's a J79 half-cent due, along with a 1-cent postage due signifiying 1-1/2 cents due, along with a half-cent Prexie left as "change" after 2 cents was paid, on a... tag on a tag?

Not your typical "cover"...

As a tag usage, it is interesting since it is not a letter. The paper-clipped Prexie as change is found on letters. Anything on other than a letter is quite a find! Thanks for showing.

Also difficult to find is $0.005 change given on a postcard with 1/2 cent due. I will post a copy sometime this long weekend, must photo it first.

Edit:

You must have hit Denny first thing. I know there are grown Prexie Collectors in tears now. Once the judges know about it, their question to an exhibitor will be, you have the letter usage but where is your tag?
