My issue is that I have this stamp, and the image size doesn't match what is in my databases or catalogs. I may be in error (probably) yet mine is 17x22mm when they claim a 21x25mm. I can't find a cat code/number for mine. I have meager resources, yet don't normally have this issue. The photos below will help. Please help me decipher this, thanks everyone.

I don't know from which resource you are getting your information, but Scott generally doesn't specify design size unless it is germane to identifying something or defines a separate catalog listing (gutter dimensions for example). The stamp is what it is. There is only one size so there is obviously an error in whatever resource you are utilizing (would help if you specified that resource).

21x25 mm is a standard British size for definitive stamps. Line perforators may cause variation.

Are you sure the size is for the printed area and not for the stamp?

Thanks, rogdcam & NSK for the assist. I have Scott catalogs, I also use references from this forum and several others, and other online catalogs. I didn't know that Scott doesn't differentiate between sizes in the same series/sets when issued.

Now I know. Thanks again everyone.

That is not what was said. What was said was that Scott does not specify design sizes unless it makes sense to do so for listing purposes.

For the most part the only way you would get a different design size printed is to have another set of plates that change the design size, or the printing methods are different. Rotary printed vs flat plate printed stamps printed vertically or horizontally are an example. As an example, Scott does give design sizes for some US stamps issued from 1923-29. The reason for doing so is because those stamps that have different dimensions (fractions of a mm) are assigned separate catalog numbers. Scott applies this to all Stamps Worldwide. It has to have a practical purpose.
