To answer your questions rodgcam, yes I have a mounted album collection, I'm talking about approximately 250 stamps, but because there's too many, I won't be posting pictures of all of them, I collect stamps from all the countries, if it is older than 1880, I acquired my stamps at only one store, it's called TPM, it's near I live, it's a store where they sell collection things, and there's a special area for stamps with a philatelist specialist, I know him really well now.
I don't use watermark fluid, when I need to verify a watermark, I go to this store, because they have watermark fluid, and I have in project to buy a Sherlock watermark machine soon.
And I own stamps tongs. The topics I posted in SCF before was showing, most of them, not really good condition stamps, but I have some other valuable ones that I'll show you pretty soon. I now learned how to use a perforation gauge and I use it. I collect since 3 years but I took some breaks and now I'm learning way more than before.
By the way I already have an idea of what is my collection worth. I just wanted to know it more accurately. I understand what you all tell me and i, again, learned more about this subject ! I won't be posting questions that are too wide and not enough accurate. |

250 stamps is a very, very small collection. The value must be concentrated in only a few of those, and only if you paid $500 or much more for each. Just scan those. |

The highest value of a stamp that I have is 400$ CAD (catalogue value) but I have 9 ones that the value is between 100$ and 375$ (catalogue value again) |

Quote: I won't be posting pictures of all of them, Then how on earth do you expect a value opinion for "insurance purposes"? |

Quote: Bobby de la rue, the value of the stamp is based on the scott catalogue. Did you consider the possibility that the dealer thinks the Scott catalogue is grossly inflated? That he might have his finger on the pulse a little better than the collector? That he has so much stock to move that he can afford to give such generous 'discounts'? |

If the catalog value of a stamp is $400, and there are any, even tiny, faults, it has a street value much, much lower than $400. If it is off center or has a hinge thin or a pulled perf or any of a lot of other factors, it's value will be substantially less than the $200 you paid. Show us the stamp, both front and back and we can probably tell you if the dealer you are using can be trusted. The great majority of stamps in the market are worth at best 10-20% of catalog value, due to common faults. |

I don't think. I know him pretty well since several years. There's 99/100 possibility that he never did something like that. |

Ok billsey, but I don't think that he really cares about all these details. But he really cares if there's an important default, like a missing part or a missing perf. |

Thanks CS.
Unfortunately, and there's no subtle way to say this, you've been robbed. |
