The stamp is StampWorld.com catalogue number 15 first issued in 1933. It is a six-cent value. The design depicts the ancient, distinctively coral-stone minaret of the Juma Mosque located in Malé. At this time the currency was based on the Ceylon Rupee.

Scott #306 came about when the UPU realigned the colors on member states stamps. The four-cent Canada with King George VI was issued in 1951.

Fanning island was a British territory (part of the Gilbert and Ellice Islands colony) containing a crucial telegraph cable station connecting Canada and Fiji. In 1939, NZ forces occupied the island. The USA took over that occupation in 1942. Black out postmarks were used on both coasts to limit information leaks during the war.

Whenever I think of South Georgia, I think of cold. Please note it is warmer in Port Stanley today than Montreal, Canada.

The ten-pence stamp is part of a series first issued in 1863. They all feature Queen Victoria and the StampWorld.com catalogue is #49. The postmark is a duplex hammer with the state of VICTORIA appearing inside the killer portion of the postmark.
