Are these two pictures of a Z grill of the 10 cent usa stamp real or fake and if so why - exactly - is one or both real?

Please show images of the entire front and back sides to include the perforations. It may not sound important, but showing "the full picture" is part of any reasonable identification process.Thanks.

Scans, not pictures, would be preferred.

The first one is not a Z grill. The grill points must be horizontal to identify a "Z" grill, and yours are not. I can see 14 columns, so you have an "E" grill.

There are only six of the 10c "Z" grills known. Not much chance of ever finding one, ever.

I know it's absurdly unlikely, but what exactly is the difference now

Because the dimensions and the grill rows fit exactly but no worry. I know that the chance at 0.001% is that it is actually the 6th;)

I created this post to get a simple explanation of why this is not a Z Grill. It would be nice if someone could explain it to me because the grill rows are identical—both 17x14—unless I saw it incorrectly.

Thanks for the link, but unfortunately, I don't have time to look into it in depth right now.

But anyway, here are 2 scans

Really?

You have already been told that your top stamp does not have horizontal ridges. That rules out a Z grill.

And the images are terrible. You would help your cause by listening and providing good images, otherwise helpful people will move on.

I'm relatively new to the field of U.S. stamps, so I couldn't know that this completely rules it out.

I'm just questioning it

Unfortunately, it sometimes loses quality more significantly, especially when I reduce it to under 300 KB.

It completely rules it out. Read the PDF file about horizontal ridges.

For sure, it's not a Z grill.
