I recently purchased a Lighthouse USA album until 1994, sparcely filled so I'm now looking for recommended dealers that would provide me with what I need (I think from the 40's I'm missing at least 2/3rds the album so probably a couple of thousand if not more, also Lighthouse demands pairs for most booklet issued stamps as well as different perfs and gum etc.

I'm guessing most of the stamps would be very cheap but it will add up. Also I'm located in Australia (I noticed that most sellers on ebay and Hipstamps only ship inside the US). Thanks in advance

Look for album collections for the time period you desire. Far cheaper if you wait for seller listings in Australia.

Thanks! Oh im happy to buy from anywhere in the world, just noticed that many dealers in the US will only ship to US addresses - I look on Delcampe, ebay and Hipstamps, are there any other sites youd recommend?

Another option is Stamp Auction Network where you have access to larger dealers that may or may not be better set up for international sales.
Here is an example of an upcoming auction from ModernStamps that may have a lot of what you need to fill those spaces.

If you find something you like, email the dealer (at least a few days ahead of the auction because they get busy near the end) to make sure they ship internationally and what they estimate the cost to ship a particular lot.

If you are not in a hurry, I agree with Parcelpostguy, search ebay and filter by "Item Location - Australia only" to save on shipping (and possibly tariffs). Don't over-pay. Stamps in this period frequently sell for under USA face value. A collection of 1000 different 3 cent stamps will have a total "catalog value" of $250.00 but face value of just $30 which is closer to what you should pay for it.

If Australia is anything like the UK, demand and prices for run of the mill US material will be pretty low. Look at a few local auction sites and you should be able to pick up what you're after for peanuts. Or Macadmia nuts in your case.

Can I just comment what a not-fan I am of coil pairs? Was this just a ploy by Big Stamp to get collectors to buy twice the coil stamps for their collections?

Thanks so much Rogdcam I placed my first bid on a similar lot - wish me luck!
GeoffHa I think I should move to the UK lol, I agree foreign stamps are usually cheaper but we don't seem to have a lot of US material here anyway - probably because its so cheap - a vicious cycle!
Tiger dude I know! I agree with you but then you have these pages in the album with those gaps staring back at you ...

I think that collecting coils in pairs provides a bit more certainty that they are indeed coil stamps.
