I have a few Nauru. I do not actively collect at this time. Once I have finished cataloging and storing my US and Panama collections, I will be looking to collect other countries. Those are attractive stamps.

Well, shall we say 1-2 years?

I am still working my head around the Panama thing,
I am trying to understand the air mail link, and how
it all worked.
I am assuming mail from Australia went

Australia > New Zealand > Panama (circa 7000 miles) by vessel
then US mail covers flew to San Francisco.
but it's all guessing at the moment.

The Panama stamp can be explained as it was posted aboard ship,
and either the Purser had Panamanian stamps, or the sender
bought ashore in Panama.

Cheers

Oh, that would be exaggerating. 1-2 months at most.

Dianne,
seems no one else collects Nauru,
the two minisheets and a folder of mint unhinged duplicates
are yours free, if you want them.
Email me an appropriate address and I'll mail them off
if you want them, of course.

The freighter stamp design is the first stamp issued under Australian mandate...I believe the boat is the Century.

Nauru is the world's smallest republic, and the only one without a capital, according to one website.

Nauru was a big favourite of mine once. And I had a fantastic collection, but I sold most it after I fell in love with a girl.

All I have left of it are bits and pieces, as well as a few I have acquired over the last five years.

The symbolism on the Wright Brothers from Nauru is fantastic. The ghostly image of the Wright Flyer over a modern runway--what more needs to be said?

Did - but don't.

Here is something which could be a sideline collection for the country.
