Bogus Rjm (Marihuana) Overprints?

These look bogus to me. They look more like handstamps than overprints. My set has deep dark solid overprints, as do the majority of examples on SAN.

The font looks correct, but the ink coverage raises all sorts of alarm bells to me.

Fakes?... or legit stamps with quality control issues?
