I am proud to announce that I have partnered with Mike Walsh of Trajan Media (publishers of the bi-weekly Canadian Stamp News) to produce The Trajan Canada Specialized Stamp Catalogue.
More details will be announced in a front-page story that will be published tomorrow in Canadian Stamp News.
The new catalogue offers several new features and content not found elsewhere. More to follow tomorrow (Tuesday, July 15, 2025)!

Best of luck on your venture. I hope there is market demand for both your publication and Unitrade. |

Hi Robin - Given what you brought to the other product I am excited to see your new venture. I imagine that with the inside view you had you saw room for other features or improvements that you now have the freedom to act on.
I am curious as to whether you see yourself competing, supplementing or some combination thereof.
Also very interested in whether or not you will be using Scott numbers since that was a major attraction for me when I first started buying the other catalog. |

Quote: Shouldn't it be a column, rather than a full-page story? I would call it a front page story. Quote: I hope there is market demand for both your publication and Unitrade. Time will tell. We have a license to use the Scott numbering system. Robin |

Quote: Nothing in the in Canadian Stamp News this morning. [ 8:45 AM ] I don't think it is available online until closer to 10am Eastern Time; at least that is about when I have received an e-mail for the last few issues. Robin |

Yes, it just arrived in my inbox and I have read the "Front page" story. Excited to see the new changes, expansion of new listings, and other improvements! Congratulations Robin on another endeavour. Two questions though. What is enhanced Scott numbering system? What is expected list cost? Mike
Edit: corrected spelling, again |

Quote: What is enhanced Scott numbering system? What is expected list cost? Sorry, you caught me out this morning. The Trajan catalogue is using the Scott numbers as assigned by Scott Publishing. Any varieties that we are including that are not in the Scott catalogue (whether it be from their Standard catalogue or the Classic volume) are assigned the next letter in sequence following any existing Scott sub numbers, as in "a", "b", "c", "d", "e", etc. The retail price is C$84.95. Here is a link to the current promotion available from Coin and Stamp Supplies (Trajan): https://coinstampsupplies.com/produ...order-offer/Robin |

724 pages, wow, specialized indeed.
One thing that would get me to buy it, does it have good photographs for color identification of the large and small queens?
On the "enhanced" Scott numbering, are you coordinating with Scott to reserve the letters that you are using, so that, suppose Scott wants to add a new variety 123a in 2027 but Trajan has already assigned 123a for a different variety? Or will Trajan in 2028 move its 123a to 123b? |

Great to hear that you and Trajan are taking this on, I'm sure it will be a quality reference judging by your previous work. Will order shortly and looking forward to receiving my copy. |

Quote: suppose Scott wants to add a new variety As has been in done in the past, I would assign a number to a new variety; Scott Publishing would see the new listing and add it in the next edition of their catalogue; I would then have to change the number to match Scott in the next year's catalogue. Has happened many times over the years. Robin |

Quote: color identification of the large and small queens We are not a colour identification catalogue in this respect. That would require having a known sample of stamps, a good scanner/photographer, and an extremely good printing company to match the printed pages with the actual stamps. I did this with The Large Queen Stamps of Canada and Their Use (Duckworth) book back in 2008 when I edited the second edition. Wasn't easy. Robin |

I pre-ordered, but find the "late summer" printing timeline to be a little ambiguous. How often will there be updates on our order status, if at all?
