I have this Uruguayan stamp. I assume it is a counterfeit. Can anyone tell me more about it? I wonder if it is common and if it has any value. Thank you.
It's not just a bad fake, it's a spectacularly bad fake!
I wonder, was it intended to deceive collectors or the postal authorities? I suspect the latter. If so, it's of historical interest, but I doubt if such a forgery would have any commercial value unless used on a cover.
