Does anyone know when Duck Stamp Certificates of Appreciation were first issued? I have many of these, the earliest one I own is from 2005-06, shown below, followed by this year's Certificate of Appreciation.
May not be exact but is close, I believe they began to appear when the self-adhesive RW stamp versions first arrived. They show up on e Bay and a periodic search may help you find the earliest.
I believe you are showing a special type of certificate of appreciation which should not be confused with the Certificates of Appreciation provided to those who reported a banded bird. A word search for "certificate" will bring the several references.
