I am not sure what Scott catalogue means when it say that the perforations are 11,14 mixed if the prior listings for the stamp in question have been identified -- Perf 11, Perf 14, Perf 11 x 14, Perf 14 x 11.
If you're referring to the New Zealand stamps of 1901-1907, mixed perfs means that opposite sides of the stamp have different perforations, e.g. perf 11 at top and left, perf 14 at right and bottom, or any other irregular combination.
It sounds as if you may have some interesting stamps, but please, please, please provide enough information for us to know what you're talking about!
My thanks and appreciation for the clarification, pjr, of what mixed perforations are, an explanation far better than what I received from My Fundamentals of Philately. My apology to all for not providing more information about where I was in the catalogue.
