Cyclo-cross is a form of bicycle racing, consisting of many laps of a short (2.5–3.5 km or 1.5–2 mile) course featuring pavement, wooded trails, grass, steep hills and obstacles requiring the rider to quickly dismount, carry the bike whilst navigating the obstruction, and remount. Here is an image of a stamp depicting cyclo-cross competitors, designed by R. Hambikova, combined engraved by Josef Hercík and photogravure, and issued by Czechoslovakia on January 22, 1987 to publicize the World Cyclo-cross Championships, held in central Bohemia, January 24-25, Scott No. 2640.

geilichina - Nice design on your China stamp!

Here are images of a couple more determined biker stamps, both printed by lithogravure, and issued to publicize the 21st Olympic Games, held in Montreal, Canada, July 17 - August 1, 1976.

I am sorting stamps in the books tonight and found this one.
The mint is real blue and mine is somewhat lilac. Because it has been used?

If the catalogue indicates only one colour,
then I would suspect light damage.

Some stamps fade through soaking, but you would
expect to see bleeding of the colour into the border
near the perfs, this is not so on yours,
hence I would lean towards the old enemy of stamps, Mr. Gamma.

A great collection of Bicycles in sports, leisure & work. Thanks for showing, everybody.
Here's a little Bicycle stamp, which shows the slower pace of life in the past. It is a delivery man on a bicycle.
