Hi all - when we were riding out the ***** Road this week we noticed a lot of roadside rubbish.
So it was decided amongst a few of us that we would do another roadside litter collection before the snakes get active.

The Results................

Revicbaxter,
I consider that stamp to be an outstanding design!
It really punches the message across.
I have, however had little queries about points of the design.

1. The cyclists are not wearing helmets. (how dangerous)
2. The rear vision mirror suggests the car is on the
wrong side of the road.

Many accidents to cyclists are caused by motorists opening doors
into oncoming cyclists.
A recent death in Melbourne Aust was caused by exactly that, and
a silver cycle has been welded to a lamp post near the spot as a
memorial to the cyclist.

The background picture does not match the view in the mirror, but I agree that the design is eye catching. I wonder what that couple are saying to each other... but I'm sure it's not "hey, that mans trying to take a picture of his wing mirror!" (In Dutch of course)

Denmark post issued a stamp in the EUROPA 2012 series along with many other European countries. The stamp depicts Pierrot pedalling away on his "Christiania bike" in the middle of rush hour, with Harlequin sitting in the box at the front.

Harlequins both fascinate me and scare me at the same time
when I was a kid, they were a sense of mystery
perhaps I saw one at a circus or something.

A couple of cycle stamps I've found on covers. One is from Serbia "50th International Cycle Race 'Tour de Serbia'", the other a recent issue from Great Britian celebrating a Paralympic gold for the host nation (the bike itself is just visible).

Bicycling, printed by photogravure (Waterlow & Sons, Ltd.), and issued by Nicaragua on July 15, 1949 as one of a set of 26 (!) stamps publicizing the 10th World Series of Amateur Baseball (?!).

Here's one I came across the other night while going through some Indonesian stamps. The Tour de Java!

That was something I had never heard of before, and in trying to find info on the race, I mostly came across links leading to the stamp, not to anything about the race. But I found this odd one - a guy with Indonesian stamps all over his bike frame.
