Hello, I found this 4D green over brown used stamp, I read on this community this series colors tend to be fugitive when soaked, but could be evanescent like this? There is just a really evanescent shadow of the print of the queen portrait

Yes, double fugitive ink was required by the Inland Revenue.

Ordinary fugitive ink is washed away by chemical solvents that might remove cancellations.

Doubly fugitive ink is washed away not only by such solvents but also by water. Your stamp has been exposed to lots and lots of water.

But I'd keep it, because it's a curiosity and also has a nice Threadneedle Street cancellation.
