From San Fran to Boston
Oct 1861
Type 3 Cog wheel
Not sure if its
64b (rose.pink)?
Or
65 (rose)?

Lalo, the year date in your cancel is clearly *not* 1861.

Lalo.Man - Nice cover but the SF strike is a type 2. The cds year date would most likely preclude the stamp being either a 64 or 64b.
Thanks for sharing your cover.

Well...
You might be right , when measuring the cog wheel I rounded up , since it clearly passes the 10mm mark.

The base of the first number is just about the same width as the base on the last number . When I zoom in I make out a 1 in the center of the last number . That's what I see. All opinions are welcome . Thanks guys

The base of the first and last digits may be the same, but the center of the digits is what matters -- the middle of the first digit is narrow a very much shaped like a 1. The middle of the last digit is fatter, rounder, I would guess a 3 maybe a 2 but not a 1. Besides, genuine SF cogwheel cancels are not known prior to January 1862. Still a nice cover to have.
