Hello,
I inherited my father's collection 30 years ago, and in the United States collection, I came across a stamp that my father had set aside with the inscription: blue paper. I'd like to know your honest opinion. The stamp on the left in the photo is the 1908 5 cents for color comparison. Thank you for your help.

What watermark does the stamp have?

You, also, might want to post a picture of the back with an orange background.

The back should be the same color/shade as the front.

Yes the stamp's true paper color cannot be seen from the front since the blue ink used to print the issue will affect the from. The suggestion of orange help the color pop if a true blue paper.

Not bluish paper. Time to soak off the hinges. Bluish paper is more grayish.

Not so fast.

The illumination in the photo showing the two reverses is not uniform. It falls off from left to right.

Try to get a more uniform distribution of light on the reverses, and maybe spread the hinges open so more of the stamp paper is being shown.

I tend to agree. The right hand stamp "could" be on bluish paper, but I really recommend showing us the same but from a flat bed scanner with a closed lid (with the orange background).
