So according to Scott, colors other than listed are considered essays. A couple of questions - I know nothing about these.... The new ones I have are to the right, pre-existing to the left in each picture. Sorry for not scanning, could not get album in scanner!!

For this 1st one, Sc300, the papers seem to be different. But I do not see these to be printed on different papers. Forgery? The one on the left the paper seems rougher and not as refined as the one on the right. And the one on the left is in orange - Essay?

This one is Sc303. Again - left one pre-existing right one new to me. Scott lists color as violet & pale lilac, which I presume is the one on the left? The one on the right an essay? The papers seem to be the same.

Lastly, Sc304 - left one pre-existing, right new to me. Scott lists color as dull blue & pale blue which is on the left? Right one essay??

Stamps4Life, your first pair of stamps is from the third definitive series. The stamp on the left is a forgery, the one on the right appears to be genuine.
There is extensive information available online. Here is one site with good information:

Thank you for the link. Looks like I was misled / wrong , as the site I did find only had b&w images from old article! Thats why I had asked here hoping somone with expeeience in these 3 issues might ba able to id them.

Apprecite the link and will take a look. I could not find an oline issue of the above referenced article on forgeries…. Its a challenge with fakes and especially when one is dealing with only 3 examples.

As pointed out, 1st pair stamp on left - forgery.

2nd pair, I believe the stamp own the right to be forgery - due mostly to complete shading behind the tablet and color.

3rd pair - I cannot tell. Seems like both stamps have forgery characteristics - In the forgery
1. The water lines are more complete and less troubled
2. There is a dot in the top right of frame (see close-up below)- this is typical of a Type II forgery along with numerous breaks in the sky lines
3. The lines under the columns are thinner
4. The mountain top is not filled in
5. There is generally a break in the sky line
6. The letters are thinner and neater, the comma is not well represented

And

1. There is no break in the skyline and no dot at the top right of the frame
2. The perfs are cleaner and larger than the forgery above
3. The shading lines are much finer than in the original

yes / no?
