Good evening to the forum, I recently found this letter sent from New York to Italy in 1909. In my opinion, it was carrying newspapers. I would like to understand if it could be included in the price given the number of stamps applied, and if it is possible to establish a catalogue number. Thank you, regards, Simone.

Postage equals registration plus intentional printed matter rate per unit of weight. Newspapers or other printed matter would qualify.

Likely due to translation issues, this is not a "letter" but a wrapper.

I will get back later with a rating unless someone else beats me to it.

Registration: 8 cents
Printed Matter: 1 cent per each 2 ounces or fraction. Thus 48 ounces for 24 cents.

70 ounces (4lb, 6oz) was the maximum mailable printed matter weight.

Now I will let others comment on Scott numbers

With a 1909 cancel, they would be DL watermarked. 331, 333-337.

The registry label is also listed in the Scott Specialized, but there are different versions which require some measuring to determine precisely which one it is.
