According to the FACIT Norden 2025 catalogue, the reprints have no gum, have a Danish Red Cross slogan on the back, and are perf 11¼ or imperforate instead of 14¼ x 14 or 14 x 14¼.
After doing much more research the 1979 single stamps were removed from the Red Cross Souvenir sheets. The clichés had been located in the Royal Greenland Trade Department (KGH) archives while the 1979 Red Cross Thule souvenir sheets and Thule souvenir cards were being developed; both also included reprints using original clichés. Eric von Wowern indicated that reprints had been produced with supervision and knowledge of the Royal Greenland Trade Department (KGH) and for their benefit and/or charity fundraising.
In the early 1990's imperforated sheets of all five values were printed and sold. They were ungummed, as issued, on bright white paper. These reprints were printed by typography, as were the originals, using original cliches.
250,000 of each value of the original 1935-36 issue were printed, which is probably about five thousand for each resident of Thule at the time. And FACIT lists "used" examples which were cancelled to order in 1937. So I think the originals are as much cinderellas as the reprints.
